Biography

 

Jacqueline Brannon Giles is a mathematics instructor at Houston Community College System - Central College. At HCC She is the Mathematics Club Advisor and member of the Editorial Board for the College Algebra Reform Project administered by Texas Southern University, directed by Dr. Della Bell. Sample projects and other student work can be found on this site as well.

She serves as associate editor of NAM's quarterly newsletter. Professor Giles is the official photographer for NAM and she is responsible for the NAM's photographic archives of African-American mathematicians and other ethnic groups.

Jacqueline Giles is involved in local, national, and international activities such as the ETS AP Calculus Program, Regional Teaching Excellence and Research Conference, various Church activities as a member and photographer, creative writing and poetry, and community service. She is currently participating with committees charged with the responsibility of exploring opportunities to establish educational consortia/partnerships in South Africa and Nigeria.
