Summary

After receiving her PhD, Bonita accepted a position at the BDM Corporation, a defense contractor in McLean, VA. Her work there involved the writing of defense analyses studies and the development and maintenance of database management systems for government agencies. After four years at BDM, Bonita decided she wanted to get back into doing research in mathematics. Currently, Bonita Saunders is designing boundary fitted grid generation algorithms to be used in solving partial differential equations on oddly shaped domains, and studying the factors that affect how crystals grow. Currently, Dr. Saunders holds the position of Mathematician in the Applied and Computational Mathematics Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). She has 7 papers published.
